Stunningly good food. This is a pricier place to eat than many Indopak restaurants but it is well worth it. It is a cleanly establishment and the staff are kind and attentive. The way to order here is to share - you can order things for yourself if you really want to, but the dishes are meant for the table and are very rich. You're unlikely to finish something here by yourself. Yet another great culinary experience on Devon, solidifying the South Asian food scene as my favorite in Chicago. This place is a must!

This was our second or third visit to Sabri Nihari and it is always delicious. There are many vegetarian options which was good for me. I accidentally left this review in draft forever!

Man, this food was great. I got the beef Nahari and chicken biryani. Nice and spicy the way I like it. What a great find.

For years, the whispers of Sabri Nihari's legendary nihari (slow cooked beef stew with bone marrow) had reached my ears. Nestled in Chicago's vibrant Devon Street neighborhood, this Pakistani restaurant promised an authentic taste of the subcontinent. Stepping into the spacious, impeccably clean dining room, I was greeted by a menu brimming with South Asian specialties. My mission, however, was singular: the nihari. The nihari ($16) arrived, a steaming revelation. This slow-cooked beef stew, rich with aromatics and thickened with whole wheat flour, was a symphony of textures. The beef, fork-tender and deeply flavorful, melted in my mouth with each bite. The accompanying broth, a perfect balance of savory and spice, was perfect for soaking up with the pillowy folds of freshly baked naan ($2 each). While the portion appeared generous, it skewed broth-heavy, offering a few substantial pieces of beef. Sabri Nihari delivered a thoroughly satisfying nihari experience. It may not have dethroned a cherished Dubai favorite, but it stands proudly alongside the best offerings in my hometown of Southern California. For those seeking a taste of Pakistani comfort food in a welcoming atmosphere, Sabri Nihari is a must-visit.
